The office building on the Burgemeester Pabstlaan dates back to the seventies and is centrally located in Hoofddorp close to Amsterdam. The architects responded by increasing the number of rentable spaces and making the building more flexible in order to meet the needs of the current office market.
Part of the concept of the renovation led by architecture office Studioninedots focused on opening the building to the exterior light, creating a new vibrant central core where the communal spaces and circulation merge in one single space.
The new identity should respond to the same optimism. How can I develop a new language able to link all the new functions and still keep the idea of the burgemeester as a reference? Vibrant colors were applied to cast a young, bold and flexible feeling to the burgemeester represented as a silhouette. The minimalism of design and strong colors are meant to strengthen the communication channels and attract new tenants.
The new identity will further become the language for the signage and wayfinding project.
